The Salmon Arm Folk Music Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lowering its environmental footprint.
Partnering with the nonprofit Salmon Arm Community Living (SACL), we have developed an aluminum can and plastic bottle recycle program. This collaboration has been rewarding for both organizations for the last six years. During the Roots & Blues Festival in August, we have ensured that a cardboard dumpster is on site and properly marked to enable our volunteers, patrons and vendors easy access. All gray water discharge from our events is drained into the municipal sewer treatment system. In our office, we purchase only recycled printer paper and all waste paper, cardboard and plastic containers are recycled.
The Salmon Arm Folk Music Society is proactive in finding new and creative ways to lessen our environmental impact.
